There are many different reasons for entering into Counselling or Psychotherapy.
Perhaps during times of stress or dilemma, following an important life event, or to understand and challenge a recurring pattern of behaviour or experience.
Counselling provides a safe, non judgemental and confidential space to talk about your issues, and is often appropriate for shorter term work. This is an ideal approach for specific difficulties or events, such as redundancy or loss of relationship.
Psychotherapy works on a deeper level, looking at aspects of self, identity and history, and is usually longer term. Psychotherapy offers the opportunity to understand oneself more, as an individual and in relation to others. I am trained as a relational psychotherapist, which enables me to work alongside clients to build a therapeutic relationship. This can help us understand our impact on others, and stuck patterns of relating, which are no longer helpful.
I offer Counselling and Psychotherapy to adults and young people aged 14 and over, for issues including depression, anxiety, relationship problems, abuse and trauma, and self harm.
We can focus on a more specific issue, or just explore whatever arises for you.I will work at your pace, and always look to provide a safe space where you can explore your own journey as you choose.

I am a member of BACP and abide by their ethical code, and I am also a member of the United Kingdom Association of Transactional Analysis.
I am trained in Counselling and Psychotherapy, and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (TF-CBT). We can discuss which approach may be relevant for you at our initial meeting.
